
The helmets and helmets were born like defensive weapon, but they passed with the time to be ornamental pieces in the heraldry. Nowadays alone it is used like decoration in the heraldries of the noblemen, for not being entitled these to crown.
THE KING. It is made of
worked gold, lined of gules, front position and with the open
visor, without any grill. The crown consists on a circle of gold,
enriched of beautiful stones, enhanced of eight fleurons, similar
in form to the celery leaves, interpolated with eight small
adorned tips of pearls in its ends; closed for up with eight
loaded diadems of gold each one of pearls, united in the superior
center, and cimadas of a globe, centered and crusader of a flat
cross of gold.
PRINCE OF
ASTURIAS. It is made also of worked gold, lined of gules, front
position with the less open visor and without grills. Their crown
consists of a circle of gold, enriched of beautiful stones,
enhanced of eight fleurons, interpolated with eight tips adorned
in its ends of pearls; closed for up with four loaded diadems of
gold each one of pearls, also united in the superior center, and
cimadas of a centered globe of gold, and crusader of a flat cross
of gold.
INFANT. It is made
of gold, lined of gules, front position with the less open visor
that that of the king and without grills. Their crown consists on
a hoop of gold enriched with beautiful stones, enhanced of eight
fleurons, interpolated with eight tips adorned in its superior
ends of pearls.
DUKE. It is made of nailed silver of gold, lined of gules, front
position and with nine grills of gold in the visor. The crown
consists on a hoop of gold enriched with beautiful stones,
enhanced of eight fleurons, interpolated with eight tips of gold.
MARK. It is made
of nailed silver of gold, lined of gules, front position and with
seven grills of gold in their visor. Their crown consists on a
hoop of enriched gold of beautiful stones, enhanced of four
fleurons, interpolated of twelve finished off tips those of the
center of three pearls.
COUNT. It is made of nailed silver of gold, lined of gules,
arbitrated toward the skillful side and with seven grills in the
visor. The crown consists on a circle of enriched gold of
beautiful stones, enhanced of ten eight tips finished off in its
end of other so many pearls and without intermediate fleurons.
VISCOUNT. As the
previous one it is made of nailed silver of gold, lined of gules,
arbitrated toward the skillful side and with seven grills in
their visor. Their crown is a circle of enriched gold of
beautiful stones, enhanced of four tips with big pearls in its
end; and interpolated of other so many tips, these with smaller
pearls.
BARON. It is made of silver, nailed of gold, lined of gules,
arbitrated toward the skillful one and with five grills in the
visor. The crown consists on a circle of gold enriched in
beautiful stones, surrounded of eight returned by a diadem of
pearls, and adorned in its superior part by eight thick pearls.
MISTER. It is of silver like the previous one, nailed of gold,
lined of gules, arbitrated toward the skillful one and with five
grills in their visor. Their crown is a circle of gold enriched
with beautiful and surrounded stones of a simple diadem of
pearls.
HIDALGO. That of
the old noblemen is made of refined steel, profile position
toward the skillful side, lined of gules and with three grills.
They don't possess crown; and in their defect, they carry
multicolored feathers, always corresponding to the weapons of
their shield.
SQUIRE. The helmet of the squires, also used by those recently
ennobled ones, it is made of iron, profile position toward the
skillful side, lined of gules, with the open visor but without
any grill. For not using crown, like in the previous case, they
carry multicolored feathers, corresponding to the weapons of the
shield.
BASTARD. The bastard also stamped their shields with the
corresponding helmet; similar in their characteristics to the
previous of the squires and recent noblemen, it differs of these
for their profile placement, but toward the sinister side as mark
of their bastard condition.
