We live on the little island La Gomera, 30 000 inhabitants, only about 15 miles (25 km) in diameter.
The highest mountain, Garajonay, reaches nearly 1500 m. The climate is between tropical and subtropical. No frost near sea level. The islands are all of volcanic origin. And there are still eruptions like 1972 on La Palma. The wind during the winter time is our main problem.
Our place at 80 m altitude in a valley is 200 m away from the coast with a marvellous view to mountains, sea and the next island El Hierro (see pictures). A little village with all the shops and mass tourism is 1500 m near.
Electricity and hot water from solar panels. Phone with a special celluar equipment 50 W to the next island El Hierro 50 miles away. Thus Internet connection at low speed 4800. Water from a spring. Waste water goes to trees after septic tanks.
